Tree Identification Workshop

April 26, 2008  10:00 am

Join veteran forester, Ed Lewis as he explorers Landmark Park and shares his knowledge of the importance of local trees, as well as their traditional historical uses.  The workshop will be held in the auditorium, located in the Interpretive Center at 10 am.  Registration is required.  

 

 

Johnny Mack Brown Western Festival

May 9 - 10, 2008

The third annual Johnny Mack Brown Western Festival will be held this year at Landmark Park.  The event, sponsored by Great Southern Wood Preserving, will feature several of the over 165 films Brown starred in as well as the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association demonstration, trick roping, the Dothan Riot re-enactment and other period shows.

Summer Camp Registration

It's almost that time again!  Summer will be here soon and with it comes Landmark Park's summer day camps.  Registration is now open to members and non-members.  Camps are offered for children between the ages of 4 - 11.  The camps will run Monday through Friday June 9 - 27 and July 7 - 25.  Camps fill up quickly, please call the park office today to reserve you spot. 

 


Daily Farm Animal Feeding

Monday - Friday 4:00 pm

Join park staff each weekday afternoon as we perform the afternoon feeding of the farm animals.  Learn about what each animals eats and what role they played on farms in the early 1900's.  The cost is free with gate admission.

 

 

 

Planetarium Shows

Saturdays 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm

Sundays 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm

Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are two of the constellations waiting for you in Landmark Park's StarLab Planetarium.  We invite you to come and see the stars each weekend.  Your guide to the stars will point out stars and constellations that are in the current night sky and also share the myths associated with them.  The Planetarium is located in the Interpretive Center.  Each show is free to park members and is $1.00 for non-members. 

*The planetarium is not recommended for children under the age of 5.

 

 

The Barnyard Playground

The newest addition to Landmark Park is open during normal park hours Monday-Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 12:00-6:00pm.  The Barnyard is the perfect spot for weekday afternoons of fun or for that special weekend birthday party.  Reserving our Playground Pavilion will make your party complete.  The admission fee into the park allows you to spend countless hours of fun at our barnyard themed playground.  Become a park member and admission to the playground and other park features is free of charge for an entire year.

Adopt a Webkin

A Webkin is the new virtual toy pet.  We now handle these adorable toy pets in our gift-shop in the Interpretive Center.  Prices range from $8.00 to $11.00.  Visit the Webkin website for more information.
