Landmark Park's volunteers come from many different backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common.  As they participate in a variety of activities, they continually enrich our community, and have fun in the process. Giving of yourself, your time and talent, can be a meaningful contribution that helps make our community a better place.

There are as many volunteer opportunities at Landmark Park as there are people.  Everyone has a special ability they can share.  Maybe it's baking cookies for a special event, tending the wildflower gardens, or perhaps painting children's faces at our Halloween Fun Fest.  Our needs are numerous and each need is important. We keep our admission fees low because we want everyone to be able to enjoy the park, and our volunteers provide the support that allows us to do so. Here are some of the roles they assume:

Docents:  These dedicated folks work with our professional education staff to provide accurate and authentic natural and historical programs.

Craftsmen and Helpers:  Everyone has a specialty ... perhaps you are a handyman, a seamstress, a retired electrician, or you just want to lend a hand with one of our current projects.  We are always striving to improve Landmark Park, and people willing to share their special skills are always welcome.  Let us know what your specialty is and we'll find a place for you.

Office/Public Relations:  Are you comfortable answering the telephone or would you enjoy working in our gift shop?  How about typing, filing, or any of the other office skills that are the lifeblood of any organization? Come out and lend a hand (or two) keeping our members and visitors well informed and our office running smoothly. 

Project Volunteers: Special events require lots of folks for a wide variety of activities.  We need volunteers who can organize children's games, demonstrate folk crafts, run a soft drink concession, direct traffic, etc.  If you really enjoy working with people on short term projects, you can get into the thick of things with a special project assignment.
